Virtual Enterprise

Edward R. Murrow’s Virtual Enterprise is a national award winning in-school entrepreneurship program that simulates a real business.  This one-year program provides students the opportunity to work in a business environment replicating all the functions of a real business from product development through production, distribution, sales, marketing, human resources, finance and accounting.  Students write a comprehensive business plan which they will execute throughout the year.  They will exhibit the business at several international trade fairs throughout the year, competing with other virtual enterprises to network and gain clients.

The program requires collaborative team work to accomplish the company’s goals and objectives.  Economics credit is granted through the program as well as scholarship and internship opportunities.  Students must have taken a minimum of two years worth of business classes in order to apply for the program.

Currently, Edward R. Murrow’s virtual business is Brandmark Advertising, a full-service brand marketing company that provides advertising and promotional services through several channels including digital media and promotional events. Other virtual companies in the VE network can rely on Brandmark to provide creative marketing strategies that will help them attract new customers, maintain existing customers and maximize profits.
