| Band Program We have four performing band ensembles: Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Band. All students in the Music Institute will be required to take Band Techniques and Advanced Musicianship & Theory. |
Vocal Program
We have five performing vocal ensembles: Junior Chorus, Senior Chorus, Treble Chorus, Chamber Choir and Gospel Chorus. All students in the Music Institute are required to take Vocal Techniques, Advanced Musicianship & Theory, and Vocal Recital & Repertoire. |
String Program We have two performing orchestral ensembles: String Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra. All students in the Music Institute are required to take String Techniques and Advanced Musicianship & Theory. |

We have a sequence of scaffolding guitar courses. The Guitar Ensemble is the performing ensemble that students can earn placement in once completing Guitar 1 and Intermediate Guitar. All students in the Music Institute are required to take Advanced Musicianship & Theory.

Musical Theater Edward R. Murrow High School presents two musicals each year in the Anzalone Theater. All instrumental students are encouraged to audition for pit orchestra. On stage, vocal students can audition to perform in a professional theatrical space with extraordinary sets, lighting, sound and costumes. |
Trips Students in the Murrow Music Institute will have the opportunity to participate in several trips: visits to universities, masterclasses, university tours and regional competitions. Our students perform at the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Spring Festival, ChoirFest at Hershey Park, and other regional events. |
