TV STUDIO
Murrow’s Media Communication Major will provide students with the tools needed to be successful in the area of communications and the world beyond.  Students will take courses in Journalism (print, radio and television), Photography (B&W and digital), Public Relations, Filmmaking and other related production courses. Students will learn the production process from start to finish; from writing scripts to shooting and editing, to writing news stories to inform, educate and entertain.
Please contribute to the next generation of media professionals!

COURTROOM
Edward R. Murrow will transform a classroom into a courtroom to bolster a Law Program that will enable classes to conduct simulated trials, congressional hearings and international summits in a more stimulating and realistic environment.  Students involved in this program also participate in Moot Court, Mock Trial and the EuroChallenge.  Participants in these activities are developing practical life skills as they advance their career goals to pursue professions in law, public advocacy or public policy.
Please contribute to the Murrow district court!

ART INSTITUTE
The Art Institute introduces students to working artists, museum internships, apprenticeships and the continuous exposure to the arts in New York City.  These partnerships allow for our students to experience the realities of the work force in the arts.  We would greatly benefit from your donations to create a digital lab where our students can work on creating digital shorts, claymation, animation and cartoons. These are current, intriguing and important design and concept fields with many scholarship and career opportunities. A digital lab would help our students be more college ready, career ready and life ready.
Please contribute to the Art Institute!

MUSIC INSTITUTE
The Music Institute has been a major part of the Murrow experience for over thirty years. As other high school music programs are discontinued, the Murrow has maintained a steadfast commitment to providing quality music education. Your support will help ensure that quality music education continues as an important part of Murrow's comprehensive, enriched curriculum, and benefits not just today's students, but generations of students to come. THEATER INSTITUTE / TECHNICAL THEATER
Whether it be embarking on a major musical, a black box production or attending a Broadway show, our Theater Department is dedicated to enriching the lives of our students through the art of theater. There are times when having the extra  money to "slay" the audience with that sensational spectacle, to buy that extravagant fabric, to send that student to see his/her first Broadway show would make all the difference. Our commitment to our students never wanes but if you had a great experience at Murrow.
Please support the Murrow Theater Institute!

VIRTUAL ENTERPRISE
Students in this program work together to establish a business plan which outlines the objectives of their virtual company. This business is exhibited in the International Virtual Enterprise Trade Fair. As students develop workplace expertise and an entrepreneurial mindset, they also sharpen academic skills in Math and English through activities such as working on their firm’s financials, analyzing risks and returns, and developing presentations and reports. With hands-on experience running and marketing a business, making complex decisions, communicating with customers and investors and preparing reports and presentations, these young entrepreneurs emerge prepared to tackle the demands of post-secondary education and meet the expectations of the job market.

PLANETARIUM
The Edwin P Hubble Planetarium opened its doors in 1979 and has served literally tens of thousands of students during its tenure. The planetarium has been undergoing a complete renovation including carpet, chairs and sound system.  By far the most exciting thing about this renovation is the installation of a digital, state-of-the-art operating system developed at the American Museum of Natural History called Uniview.  With the Uniview system, visitors can view the night sky from anywhere on Earth, from any time period.  A sizeable amount of money was needed for this transformation which was granted by the City Council.  However, funds for the future maintenance and training of our staff have not been provided.  Donations are readily needed for these and unforeseen issues that may be upcoming.  Thank you for your interest in our amazing new planetarium!
Please help our planetarium go where no man has gone before!
