The Career and Technical Education Department at Edward R. Murrow High School offers courses designed to prepare students with 21st Century Skills in order to become College and Career Ready.   Course offerings develop skills in technology, analyzing financial information, marketing, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision making as well as the ability to develop presentations and reports.

All students can select courses in this department as electives or as part of a New York State approved CTE Entrepreneurship program. The Entrepreneurship program requires a 3 year sequence including: Computer Applications, Entrepreneurship and Virtual Enterprise.  Participation in the program, allows students the opportunity for Work Based Learning Experiences such as guest speakers, career research, mock interviewing, job shadowing, mentoring and internships.  Industry partners support the program in order to provide students with real world knowledge and expertise.

Students that successfully complete the sequence will obtain Economics credit, Career & Financial Management credit, as well as a Technical Endorsement on their diploma.  College credit will be awarded to students who score 75% or higher on their technical assessment.  Internship and scholarship opportunities are also available.
